Design Philosophy

Sarah is a firm believer that the interior design should reflect the clients’ personality, needs, and wants rather than the designer’s. She approaches projects understanding that the artistic elements are just as important as the logistical time schedules and budget planning. Sarah embraces sustainable design and promotes wellness in the home by actively sourcing products that have minimal or no toxic off-gassing. She is very comfortable working with clients one-on-one as well as with architects, contractors, and other designers to create the best end-product possible. She is primarily known for her discerning eye for color and fabric and is passionate about how color can transform a space. With 15 years’ hands-on interior design experience, she can transform your space to something you love living in and working in. Love your space and schedule a free remodel consultation!

At Nordstrom

For seven years, Sarah managed the retail design selections for Nordstrom Rack at their corporate offices in Downtown Seattle before leaving in 2018 to focus on Nuance Interior Design. She launched new interior design concepts for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores all over the country. For the Rack, she selected all of the interior materials and finishes (hard flooring, carpet, paint, etc.) and lighting. Sarah has reinvented the Rack interior look and feel using cutting-edge materials and integrating technology. She had various historic locations in New York and Chicago with preservation requirements as well. She loved infusing the Nordstrom brand with innovative concepts to differentiate Nordstrom in the marketplace and created an inviting place to shop. With her tenure in a fast-paced corporate retail environment, Sarah honed her project management skills to oversee multiple locations, budgets, teams, and timelines successfully.
