Sarah Walker – Interior Designer Serving Issaquah, Sammamish, Bellevue & Nearby Cities

Sarah has been professionally practicing interior and graphic design for over 15 years and still enjoys the challenge of project management however large or small the scope. She has experience designing everything from single room updates to full-house renovations and re-furnishing. She strives to help each client define their style in their space. Whether you are the client that wants to do most of the work themselves but need expertise to bring it all together, or need a custom kitchen with top-of-the-line materials and cabinetry, or someone that would like to transform their space with a blend of standard and custom elements with or without a contractor, it is all available at Nuance Interior Design.

Formal Education

She graduated with honors from Utah State University (accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation) with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design with a Business Emphasis and a minor in Art/Graphic Design. Sarah also completed an interior design summer internship in Orange County, California with two companies: one specializing in residential design and the other in paint color consultations. She was able to spend another summer studying the extraordinary and enormously influential art and architecture of Florence, Italy.

Design Philosophy

Sarah is a firm believer that the interior design should reflect the clients’ personality, needs, and wants rather than the designer’s. She approaches projects understanding that the artistic elements are just as important as the logistical time schedules and budget planning. Sarah embraces sustainable design. She is very comfortable working with clients one-on-one as well as with architects, contractors, and other designers to create the best end-product possible. She is primarily known for her discerning eye for color and fabric and is passionate about how color can transform a space.

At Nordstrom

For seven years, Sarah managed the retail design selections for Nordstrom Rack at their corporate offices in Downtown Seattle before leaving in 2018 to focus on Nuance Interior Design. She launched new interior design concepts for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores all over the country. For the Rack, she selected many of the interior materials and finishes (hard flooring, carpet, paint, etc.) and lighting. Sarah has reinvented the Rack interior look and feel using cutting-edge materials. She loved infusing the Nordstrom brand with innovative concepts to differentiate Nordstrom in the marketplace and created a beautiful, inviting place to shop.

Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” ― William Morris
