Homes Designed for Real Life, Not Just the Camera: How Nuance Interior Design is Different
Many flagship homes are designed to host unforgettable evenings and photograph perfectly, yet the average Tuesday still feels crowded, loud, and tiring. Sightlines that impress guests create constant visual noise, statement lighting is harsh when you are trying to unwind, and beautiful materials can be unforgiving for real family life and staff. Our work exists in that gap between the party and the school night: taking homes that might win an award in a magazine and shaping them, so they actually restore the people who live there, every day of the week.
Who We Are
Nuance Interior Design creates wellness centered legacy estates for families and family offices who want homes that genuinely support rest, connection, and daily life. We translate how your family lives into foundation to furnishings design, so every room is planned for sleep, recovery, focus, and time together, without adding to your mental load.
Each engagement ends with a fully furnished, move in ready home and one Design & Care Portfolio that keeps your architect and builder aligned during construction and gives your staff a single operating manual to run and care for the estate after move in.
Who We Serve
We work with family offices, advisors, professional athletes, and high-performing individuals responsible for $25M+ flagship estates who want wellness and longevity built into the home from day one. Most have several major properties around the world and want one clear standard for how their homes support rest, recovery, focus, and connection.
We often start with a single legacy estate and then extend the same approach across the wider real estate portfolio.
How We Work with High-Performing Families & Individuals
We have deeply enjoyed working with family offices, advisors, and principals that prioritize their families, longevity, and wellbeing, and who see their homes as more than line items. We are comfortable running large, complex projects globally with principals, advisors, estate managers, or owners’ reps as the primary contact.
Our work fits naturally with long term thinking: heirloom quality design, multi-generational living, and decisions made in decades and generations, not seasons.
One Coherent Plan, Modeled Before You Build
We serve as the dedicated partner for interior design and wellness, coordinating closely with the architect, builder, consultants, and estate team so everyone is working from one coherent plan. We integrate their information into a coordinated 3D model with interior fixtures, furnishings, and art fully modeled, so the family can see and refine how key spaces look and feel before construction begins.
That level of front-end clarity helps avoid six figure change orders in kitchens, primary suites, and wellness spaces, prevents months of delay from late interior and wellness decisions, and guards against ending up with a home that looks complete but underperforms for recovery, connection, and sleep once the family actually moves in.

Deep Experience, Bespoke Resources
Nuance combines 20+ years of experience in complex interiors, from leading design for 142 Nordstrom stores, spas, and restaurants to completing more than 50 multi‑million‑dollar estates. That track record, plus Sarah’s global upbringing in Dubai and extensive travel, has shaped a refined sense of scale and materiality and given us access to the world’s best artisans and manufacturers.
With that network and thoughtful technology integration, we are able to design incredibly bespoke interiors that are calibrated to each family’s specific routines, preferences, and wellness priorities, so every detail feels intentional and tailored.
Wellness as a Design System
We treat wellness as a science‑informed design system, not an aesthetic afterthought. Every estate is shaped through biophilic principles that strengthen connection to nature for restoration, neuroaesthetic cues that support calm, clarity, safety, and belonging, and non‑toxic, sustainable materials that protect people, pets, and the home over time.
We plan for aging and living in place so long‑term use feels graceful rather than clinical, and we pay close attention to ergonomics, so spaces fit real daily life and care. Together, these decisions support resilience and nervous system regulation for busy, high‑performing families who need their homes to help them recover, not just look beautiful.
Our Exceptional Partnership
Dedicated relationship support means you have a single senior point of contact, direct access, and guaranteed fast response times, plus a standing quarterly review so your families and projects always get priority attention.
We also partner with elite builders and architects where there is a shared commitment to stewardship and long-term thinking. We value the conversations where families decide how they want to live, what they want to protect, and what kind of impact they want to have. When homes truly support rest, recovery, and connection, families show up healthier, clearer, and kinder in the world, and that has a ripple effect far beyond the walls of any one estate.
Discretion as a Design Requirement
We treat discretion as a design requirement, not a marketing line. Every project starts with a three-tier NDA so families can choose portfolio only, no disclosure, or publication, and those boundaries are then extended to our vendors and trade partners.
For no disclosure work, access is limited to a small core team, file naming and communication avoid identifying details, and we do not upload client plans or information into AI tools. The default assumption is privacy, and any visibility beyond that only happens with explicit written approval.
When We Are the Right Fit
We are a strong fit if you are thinking in decades and generations, not seasons, and want one expert partner for the interiors and wellness layer across key homes. Our work is intentionally frontloaded with extensive documentation, so families, advisors, and builders move faster with fewer surprises once construction starts.
